Topic: CSA A440, the Canadian Window Standard; Past, Present and Future

Description: The CSA A440 Canadian Window Guide Standard has been in existence since 1984 and covers the evaluation of all window types from both a prescriptive and performance perspective. Air tightness, water tightness, wind load resistance condensation and a host of operation type characteristics are covered. Over the years the standard has grown to include performance selection parameters, energy efficiency and installation. So what does it all mean? By reviewing the past, present and future of the standard, many of the mysteries imbedded in the document are revealed.
