Chief was Bluespirit Kennel's foundation dog and sired several litters that - to his genetic credit - inherited most of his physical and personality traits. Chief enjoyed the show ring and confidently became a Canadian Champion at the age of three. As depicted above he has a straight and solid topline and an impressive chest. His double coat develops well in the Canadian winter climate, protecting him from harsh weather and giving him a regal mane.
If an Australian Cattle Dog can have perfect attitude, then Chief is ideal. He loves the livestock with which he's charged. He will swoon over his stock as if they are his precious family. He has the same attitude of affectionate ownership over his breeding bitches as well, as attested by the photograph below.
With people, Chief is responsive, friendly and biddable. He's smart, ever alert and ready to accompany his master on any adventure, especially if he's called to task.

| Today, Chief is still healthy and happily retired on a cattle farm where he mainly functions as companion to the head of the family, and keeping the cattle back from the gate.
After a long visit with his potential new owner, Chief approached and sat on his new master's foot. Knowing somehow that this would be his new home, he showed again, as always, that he knew the score.
Chief is now retired from the Bluespirit breeding program
